Kamatukis Shrine location and solution for Tears of the Kingdom (Totk)

Recommended Videos

Kamatukis Shrine looks innocent enough on the surface, but it can quickly have you pulling your hair out in frustration. It’s just two sections, but to successfully complete each one might take you longer than entire other shrines in Tears of the Kingdom. However, fret not. We have covered everything you need to know to complete Kamatukis Shrine below. But first, let’s take a look at how to find the location of this troublesome shrine.

How to find Kamatukis Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

Kamatukis Shrine is located in the Deep Akkala area of Hyrule, not to be confused with the Akkala Highlands to the south. The easiest way to get to the shrine is from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. Kamatukis shrine is directly north of the tower, and it is possible to glide nearly the entire way if you have enough stamina. To find the shrine, head to Skull Lake on the map, and it can be found just next to the lake on the east side. Check the screenshot above for the exact location of the shrine on the map.

How to complete Kamatukis Shrine

Kamatukis Shrine can technically be completed in less than a minute. However, unlike other shrines that require a complex solution, Kamatukis requires you to be both lucky and skillful to succeed.

As you enter the shrine, there is a room with a hole for a ball on the left and the same straight ahead. The room on the left will reward you with a chest, while the hole ahead of the entrance will open the door to complete the shrine.

Normally, we would provide directions to get the chest first. However, this one is particularly challenging, so we’ll go with the shrine completion puzzle to begin.

If, after opening the exit door, you want to go for the chest, continue reading below. The chest does contain a Mighty Zonaite Longsword that can be very powerful when fused with the right items.

To unlock the shrine door, you need to send the ball near the ledge into the hole on the opposite side of the room. To do this, you’re going to attach the large iron box to the swinging pillar behind the ball.

Next, we have what amounts to mini golf. You need to use Ultrahand to pull back the iron box, a.k.a. golf club and hit the ball towards the hole. If you are unsuccessful with your attempt, strike the orange plinth to spawn a new ball.

The picture above shows the correct height from which to drop the box. However, there’s very little chance the ball will go in the first time. You will need to adjust your aim both vertically for power and horizontally for placement to get the ball into the hole. Adjust your shots until the ball goes into the hole and it lights up green, unlocking the exit.

If after the first hole, you’re feeling confident and want to get the chest, head into the next room. Once again, attach the iron box to the pillar. This section is much harder to complete than the first. To get the ball into the hole, you need to time your hits correctly for when the hole moves across the room and is directly opposite the ball.

Moreover, you’re going to need to adjust the swing of the box much more than in the first room. Too little power and it won’t make the platform. Too much power and the ball will have too much momentum and roll back down. Essentially, you need to hit the ball with the exact right amount of power for it to land in the hole as it loses all momentum so that it stays and the activation is complete. While also timing the shot for the exact moment when the platform passes the ball. It’s a fine line to master, and don’t be disheartened if it takes you a lot of tries.

Check the screenshot above for the rough height and placement that was successful for us.

Once you have mastered the puzzle, collect your Mighty Zonaite Longsword from the chest in the small room to the left of this area.

That’s it! Kamatukis Shrine is complete.
