Some of Japan’s most successful and influential fighting game developers/publishers will gather together for a “roundtable discussion” this coming weekend.

This meeting of the minds will see notable companies such as Capcom (Street Fighter), Bandai Namco (Tekken and DBFZ), Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue), SNK (King of Fighters), Arika (Fighting Layer EX), and Koei Tecmo (Dead or Alive) meet up, (presumably digitally), for a good ol’ chinwag about upcoming titles, esports, and the future of the genre.

The August 1 event will be streamed on each publisher’s respective YouTube channel but, as a live discussion, is unlikely to feature English subtitles. I know what you’re thinking and I’m thinking it too – if this weekend doesn’t end with the official announcement of Street Fighter x Tekken x KoF x Guilty Gear x Fighting Layer Alpha Turbo Edition then frankly I don’t know what hope there is for any of us.

I mean, at least confirm Capcom vs. SNK 3, or sell Darkstalkers to ArcSys… just something.
