After numerous delays, the countdown to XDefiant is finally on, as we’ll finally get our hands on Ubisoft’s Call of Duty competitor on May 21. If you want to play the new CoD release every year, you’ll have to shell out some of your hard-earned cash for the experience, but over the years, we’ve seen free-to-play games like Fortnite and Apex Legends take a foothold in the shooter market.

So, where does XDefiant sit? Here’s the scoop.

Is XDefiant free?

Yes, XDefiant is free-to-play, meaning you won’t have to spend a cent to jump into the action.

The game will be available to download from Ubisoft Connect on PC, the Microsoft Store on Xbox, and the PlayStation Store.

Will I be able to download the full game for free?

Absolutely! This isn’t a demo or a “lite” version of the game, but the full XDefiant release.

What’s included in the free XDefiant download?

Even though you won’t be paying for it, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth when you do, as XDefiant launches with 14 maps, 24 weapons, and five game modes.

Even better, more content will be added through seasonal updates in the future, which will also be free for everyone to enjoy.
