Unturned is an ultra-popular multiplayer game about maybe surviving against zombies. I played it once, and my friend shot me. So, essentially, it’s lo-fi DayZ but also a lot smaller.
When Unturned was initially released, it was only on PC. In 2020, it reached Xbox and PlayStation platforms. Now, in the distant future year of 2024, it has reached the ultimate platform: Switch. It’s a great game to pick up and play with friends. But if they have a Switch and you have a PC, can you still play together?
No, sorry. The Console and PC versions are sort of different beasts. The console versions are done by FunLabs/505, while the PC version was originally done by Smartly Dressed Games. A large number of modifications were made to the console ports to make them more playable on controllers. They’re also updated at different times and rarely have parity.

So, because they essentially have a different infrastructure, they’re not compatible. However, the console versions could still have the possibility for cross platform, but they don’t.
Unturned is free on PC and runs on relatively low-end hardware, so that might be your best bet for playing against your friends. Otherwise, you’ll need to make sure you choose the same platform to play against each other.
