Will there be Planet Coaster 2 multiplayer features?

Planet Coaster 2 for the first time will let you build a water park inside the game, and thankfully, you can explore this with a friend. However, it does get complicated. Yes, there is Planet Coaster 2 multiplayer, but you can’t play together at the same time. Instead, you’ll be sharing the park and adding features together separately.

“Jump one-at-a-time into a shared save to build a park with your friends or players around the world across platforms!” explains the official Steam page for Planet Coaster 2. There will also be leaderboards in the Franchise Mode, and the ability to freely change your park how you wish in Sandbox Mode. Just be sure to save your progress, so your friends across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S can add on to what you’ve built already.

By the way, crossplay has been confirmed for Planet Coaster 2. You’ll likely have to be logged into an account for the developer Frontier Developments to connect you with your pals.

Simulation games with multiplayer

While Planet Coaster 2 has some form of multiplayer, not being able to play the game with your friends at the same time is a bit of a letdown. Thankfully, some simulation titles do feature multiple players at once. The biggest that comes to mind is the Civilization series. You can either work with or against each other in Civilization VI as you try to build the greatest power in the world. Whether or not you want to take over another nation is entirely up to your group, however.

There’s also Stardew Valley, a popular farming sim game that lets you complete tasks with your buddy. You can have up to seven others join you in fact. It even has split-screen multiplayer for those who want to play locally.
