Is Lethal Company Steam Deck compatible?

Scrappin' on the go.

As some will know, the game is currently exclusive to PC via Steam. It’s unclear if that will continue to be the case for long, given the extreme success it’s been dealt, but for now that remains true. Because of this exclusivity, some have been curious if Lethal Company is compatible with the Steam Deck. It’s a valid question, though one with a dose of nuance that needs to be discussed properly. So, let’s do just that!

Can you play Lethal Company on Steam Deck?

Yes, according to the game’s official page via Steam. Lethal Company is “playable” on Steam Deck, which means it might not be as ideal an experience as playing on desktop, but it will theoretically function as intended. Steam says it “might require extra effort to interact with or configure.”

It seems as if the biggest problem with Lethal Company on Steam Deck has to do with the controller mapping. According to Steam, the game might require “use of the touchscreen or virtual keyboard, or a community configuration” to work properly. So, while this might not be a deal-breaker for some, it could take some getting used to if you’re familiar with the desktop version of the game.

In addition, Steam clarifies any on-screen icons could be from a “mouse, keyboard, or non-Steam-Deck” controller. The game could also require use of the on-screen keyboard, which makes sense considering the text chat and in-game terminal present in Lethal Company. If none of those warnings scares you away from trying this game on the Steam Deck, then why not jump in and give it a shot?
