Is LEGO Fortnite open-world?

How big is the blocky world of LEGO Fortnite?

To the delight of both children and collectors everywhere, LEGO Fortnite has launched following its unveiling during the battle royale’s The Big Bang event. In the lead-up to launch, the development team was being tight-lipped about what to expect from this collision of two massive entertainment brands.

But, now that we’ve been able to jump into the game, we can provide a definitive answer to whether or not LEGO Fortnite is an open-world experience or not.

Is LEGO Fortnite an open-world experience?

Yes! LEGO Fortnite is indeed an open-world survival and resource allocation game accessible from the Fortnite client. In addition to exploring a vast, open world of your own design, there’s a day/night cycle, as well as a hunger/temperature system that requires you to eat and build shelter to stay alive.

In the surrounding area of your burgeoning community, you’ll be able to harvest fruits and vegetables, as well as chop down trees, and collect stones, which will be the bedrock of future growth. Just be sure not to venture too far from camp without a means to protect yourself, because while there may not be any PvP in LEGO Fortnite, there are creepy crawlies and monsters in the uncharted lands that don’t play nice.

It does make sense for LEGO Fortnite to be an open-world experience given its older sibling. Before launch, the team was marketing it as “the ultimate survival crafting adventure,” and I think they weren’t entirely off the mark there.

In any case, it’s time to get back out there and expand your LEGO Fortnite community!
