Is Diablo 4 available on Mac?

Not yet, and we can’t tell whether it’ll ever be

Players have seemed to be curious about whether Diablo 4 will ever make it to Mac platforms. As of today, not even an entire month after its release, we can play Diablo 4 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

So no, Diablo 4 is not available on Mac right now. We still don’t have any information on a Mac release, and things are complicated on that front.

On the one hand, Diablo’s history with Mac OS indicates that it should exist in the future. Blizzard seems to care about gaming on Mac OS as it has made not just the other Diablo games but most of its games available on Apple computers. Diablo 3 even came out on Mac at the same time it did on PC. On the other, Microsoft may or may not be acquiring Activision Blizzard, which could put a wrench in those plans.

Whoopi Goldberg got a refund on Diablo 4 after she found out it’s not Mac compatible

Out of all the wacky-but-surprisingly-not-awful tales to come out of Blizzard lately, the best one features not Megan Fox, but Whoopi Goldberg. Goldberg is seemingly a fan of the series, but she’s only into playing it on a Mac. She bought the game but got incredibly frustrated to learn that her Mac wouldn’t run it. This began a hilarious social media feud between the star of The View and Activision Blizzard. Luckily, both sides ended their quarrel out of court on July 22 when Blizzard finally agreed to reimburse the purchase.

“I just wanted to let everybody know that I got a refund for my Diablo game. Blizzard, you stepped up and I thank you so much for it,” the 67-year-old star said (via EW). “I really wish you’d been able to make it accessible for Apple, but I understand that it’s out of your hands now because it belongs to Microsoft. I always thought you guys were stand-up people, and it turns out that you are. Everybody, they gave me my deposit back. I’m hoping that yours is on the way. Again, thank you, Blizzard. I very much appreciate it.”

What’s next for Diablo 4 (and Whoopi Goldberg)

It sucks that Goldberg won’t get to play Diablo 4 just because she doesn’t own a PC. Has PC gaming finally become too expensive even for the multimillionaire class? Is it but a matter of brand zealotry? Either way, the battle against evil could probably use the help of a Hollywood-certified nun.

I jest, but it sure will suck for the Mac gamers out there who can’t afford other systems in case Microsoft decides to cut off Apple from future Activision Blizzard releases.

We hope Diablo 4 will make its way into Mac systems quickly enough. If not, maybe Goldberg could temporarily forego her Apple devotion and use her showbiz connections to ask Henry Cavill to build her a PC.

And if you happen to already own a PC and are eager for more Diablo 4, then there’s good news. Blizzard has just announced the announcement of Season 1 for next week.
