At Super Smash Con last weekend, indie brawler Rivals of Aether was confirmed to be getting ported to Nintendo Switch. Announced by the game’s creator, Dan Fornace, it’s unclear how far into development this version is or when it will be heading to the eShop. It’s also not sure if this will be a complete version with all previous DLC included.
The main game is a $14.99 purchase on PC and Xbox One and has roughly six additional DLC characters ranging from $2.99 to $4.99 (some come in a double pack). It comes out to basically the price for a $40, which isn’t so bad. Some extra costume DLC is also available, bumping the price to around $60. It’d be nice to see the Switch version launch with everything at once so players can have the complete experience on the go.
For now, we just know that Rivals of Aether is coming. It looks like Smash may have some competition.
