How to use the Eagle Strafing Run to maximize kills in Helldivers 2

An orderly line of death.

There are dozens of Stratagems to master in Helldivers 2, but a few, like the Eagle Strafing Run, need expert timing to get the most kills.

Helldivers 2 offers many weapons and Stratagems for players to use to decimate their enemies. Be it a portable minefield, a machine gun, or something a little more powerful, there are plenty of tools of destruction to utilize. However, as you’ll find when you play, some of these require expertise in placement and timing if you’re going to make the most of them.

The best way to use the Eagle Strafing Run Statagem in Helldivers 2 is almost like a grenade. It only takes a couple of seconds to deploy and deals a moderate amount of damage on the battlefield. Once you call and deploy it, your ship will fire a short burst of heavy fire from orbit at the target, annihilating anything unlucky enough to be standing there.

When it comes to any Personal Orders that require you to get a certain number of kills with the Eagle Strafing Run Stratagem, the best thing is to play it as I’ve described. When you encounter a large group of enemies consisting of a wide range of foes, throw a beacon into the mix. This will quickly deploy the shots you need at those enemies, ripping them apart using the Stratagem and building up those kills you need.

You start with three deployments of the Eagle Strafing Run before you need to reload it or wait for it to replenish. This means you can throw a few into hordes of enemies that are bothering you if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Again, if you think of it as three additional grenades, you’ll get all the kills you need and complete the mission with very few issues.

You’ll need to watch out for getting caught in the crossfire. This Stratagem deploys so quickly that you might just end up getting hit by one of your ship’s stray bullets. This is embarrassing and feels much worse if someone sees you get hit. Be careful and avoid the area once you throw your Stratagem.

You can get the Eagle Strafing Run Stratagem in Helldivers 2 by purchasing it from the Stratagem tab in the Ship Management menu. It costs 1,500 Requisition Slips, nothing at all to a loyal Helldiver, and can be acquired very early on in your time with the game.

The best loadout in Helldivers 2 will always be what you’re most used to and comfortable with. However, when running specific Stratagems you might not be used to, such as the Eagle Strafing Run, certain loadouts can complement what you’re using. This is the best loadout for the Eagle Strafing Run Stratagem that I often use.

The idea with this loadout is to be able to use the Eagle Strafing Run Freely. The Stalwart will keep enemies at bay while it triggers or kills those that it doesn’t. The Guard Dog will keep your damage up, even while deploying a Stratagem, and the Minefield is the perfect accompaniment. It will eat up enemies that come through your Strafing Run, causing tonnes of damage and killing pretty much anything.

The above is purely the Stratagems I recommend you use with the Eagle Strafing Run. When it comes to gear and weapons, you should use what you’re most comfortable with because they will always provide the best results for your play style.
