How to upgrade your broom in Hogwarts Legacy

It's no Nimbus 2000, but here's how to upgrade your broom.

Riding your broom in Hogwarts Legacy helps you get around the open world quickly. Fortunately, if you upgrade it, you’ll travel even faster.

When can you upgrade your broom in Hogwarts Legacy?

After your first broom lesson in the main storyline, head over to Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade. It’s represented by a Golden Snitch emblem on the map. Head to the fast travel point on the bottom left to reach it quickly.

The once-closed store is now open for your character to walk into. You’ll find Albie Weekes, the store owner. Buy your first broom from him. You’ll then get a new side quest from a Slytherin classmate named Imelda. She tests you on finishing time trials. Similar to Superman 64 (but far better), you’ll need to go through rings and beat the best time on-screen.

Once you finish the race, head back to Albie and buy the first upgrade from him for 1,000 gold pieces. These upgrades will improve your speed and acceleration.

How to get further upgrades

As you progress through the game, more trials will be available to you. Beat Imelda’s times and after some time, the upgrades will become available to you from Albie after speaking to him about the results of the trial. Do this three times to fully upgrade your broom. The second upgrade costs 4,000 Gold, while the last upgrade is 7,500 Gold.

You can then find other brooms from people like Leopold Babcocke, who sells the Sky Scythe.
