How to upgrade the General Store in Fields of Mistria

Oh great, more things to spend money on...

The General Store in Fields of Mistria starts out with a fairly limited list of stock available to purchase. Although you can get by with the early items, it’s a good idea to upgrade the General Store once you’re able to.

Unfortunately, you’re going to have to check off a few things before you can finally upgrade the General Store, so do the following first:

The quest to begin the upgrade process for the General Store will come in the form of a letter in the mail from Adeline shortly after you finish repairing the Mill. The quest itself works in the same way as repairing the Bridge and Mill, with a donations box where you need to put the following resources:

  • 300 Wood
  • 500 Stone
  • 5 Copper Ingots
  • 5 Iron Ingots

The Iron Ingots are the reason you need to break through the Water Seal in order to get this quest completed. Iron Ore is only available on floors 21-40 of the Mines, which are only accessible once the first seal is broken.

You’ll also need a sizable sum of 3,000 Tesserae in order to complete the General Store’s makeover. Once you’ve raised this and placed all of the required resources into the donations box outside the Store, talk to Adeline to begin the upgrade.

Upgrading the General Store expands the available stock, enabling you to purchase items which you wouldn’t have been able to before. After upgrading, you’ll find a new range of seeds, furniture, and cooking ingredients available.

However, the most exciting new item which becomes available for purchase is the second Backpack upgrade, which increases your on-player inventory to 30 slots.
