How to unlock the second floor of Random Play in Zenless Zone Zero

Take that trophy and get to bed.

Developer miHoYo is notorious for producing games with some of the longest grinds to platinum, at least on PlayStation consoles. However, in Zenless Zone Zero, you can speed things up by grabbing easy trophies early, and there are a few, like the House is Pretty Big After All trophy, that can be missed.

The House is Pretty Big After All trophy is triggered by unlocking the second floor of Random Play in Zenless Zone Zero. This is the video store where the game’s protagonist lives and runs their day-to-day businesses. The only issue is that this trophy can be bugged, so you’re going to need to perform a very specific set of movements to trigger it and ensure you don’t miss out on what should be an automatic Bronze trophy in the game.

To unlock the second floor of Random Play in Zenless Zone Zero, you need to progress the main story until you’ve completed The Proxy and the Hare mission. This is a very early mission that you’ll encounter while still learning the ropes, though it is definitely the toughest mission of the tutorial segment.

Once it’s been completed, you’ll gain an objective to go to your room and go to bed. Both of these are on the second floor of Random Play, so you can run upstairs and rest. While this should automatically trigger the associated trophy, it didn’t for me. That requires some extra work.

To unlock the House is Pretty Big After All trophy in Zenless Zone Zero, you’ve got to go upstairs in Random Play and walk around the landing up here until you find the ladder. Then, walk right up to that ladder, and that should trigger the trophy to unlock.

I have no idea why this works, and the trophy doesn’t automatically pop. It might have something to do with the ladder being a point that was originally used to reach a specific location, but it’s more likely an oversight because this trophy does eventually trigger. It just requires you to run around the second floor until you hit the right spot.

With this trophy out of the way, you’ll have collected every trophy you can get up to this point. If you’re grinding out the platinum trophy on PS5, you just need to keep playing because you’re still locked into the core story and can’t grind for any optional trophies.
