How to unlock the Royal Net in Disney Dreamlight Valley

It's time to catch some paper birds.

The Royal Net is a tool in Disney Dreamlight Valley specific to the Storybook Vale expansion pack. While it isn’t too useful outside of this DLC, it’s a crucial tool within it, especially as you catch Snippers for the Lorekeeper. Here’s how to unlock and use the Royal Net.

How to get the Royal Net in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Unlocking the Royal Net requires owning the Storybook Vale expansion pack. You can purchase the DLC for $29.99 through the official DLV website to access its storyline, world, and this new tool.

Once you have the Storybook Vale expansion, you’ll begin the Welcome to the Storybook Vale quest, where you’ll meet Merida and the Lorekeeper before learning more about the world around you. The Storybook Vale is currently plagued by a curse originating from a feud between Hades and Maleficent, and it’s up to you to help resolve it.

Throughout this quest, you’ll locate a bag for Merida containing a pickaxe potion before determining how to find the Royal Net using it. The secret is on the library’s floor: more specifically, the rotating dials in its center. There are two levers, with each one corresponding to a dial.

However, despite having two levers, there are four dials to this puzzle. We can use this information to our advantage and use the position of the two untouched dials to figure out the rest of the pattern.

Once you complete the puzzle, the center will raise up, revealing the Royal Net. Pick it up to officially unlock this tool and learn its use.

How to use the Royal Net in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Using the Royal Net requires using your tool interact keys and either tapping or holding it. On PC, this is spacebar or right-click. Pressing your tool’s interact button causes your character to swing it vertically while holding and charging up the swing lets you spin in a circle with it.

You’ll need to keep both of these in mind, as you’ll soon find out when unlocking the library’s wings. It can take some getting used to at first, but it’ll become second nature quickly.

You’ll also use the Royal Net to catch Snippets. The Lorekeeper needs Snippets to regain its magic, so you’ll spend a good chunk of your playthrough collecting them. You can use either the spin or vertical swing to catch them; it’s mostly up to personal preference.
