How to unlock the Alchemist archetype in Remnant 2

Remnant 2 has a handful of secret archetypes that you can unlock while playing through the Souls-like. One of the first archetypes you can unlock is also one of the easiest: the Alchemist. In order to unlock the Alchemist archetype in Remnant 2 you will need the Philosopher’s Stone Engram. More specifically, you will need the special item called the Mysterious Stone which you then turn into the Engram. This is how to unlock the Alchemist archetype in Remnant 2.

How to unlock the Alchemist archetype in Remnant 2

The Mysterious Stone is obtained in the world of Losomn. If Losomn is the first world you get access to in your campaign, lucky you! You can actually unlock this secret archetype right away! If not, wait until you progress far enough in your playthrough to unlock Losomn. If you have already cleared through this world, you can also jump into it on Adventure Mode to unlock the Alchemist.

Once in Losomn, you want to look for an area with water draining into a sewer grate with the bars bent. Go and stand in front of the iron bars, and a beast should attack you and drag you behind them. Don’t attempt to move during this event, as that will cause you to break free. You don’t want to do that!

Your character will then wake up in a pit of bones and have to fight the Manticora. Don’t worry, it’s not even technically a boss enemy and therefore is pretty easy to take down. The Manticora can hit pretty hard though so make sure you dodge its melee attacks. Once defeated, you’ll be rewarded with the Mysterious Stone.

Once you have the Mysterious Stone head to the NPC Wallace in Ward 13. Here you can use the Mysterious Stone to craft the Philosopher’s Stone Engram, which unlocks the Alchemist archetype!

Is the Alchemist archetype in Remnant 2 good?

The Alchemist can be a very formidable archetype, especially in group play. This is due to the Alchemist’s ability to buff itself and its allies. The archetype focuses on support and utility primarily, through the use of vials and other consumables.

At its core, the Alchemist has the role of increasing the productivity of its team through its various buffs. The Prime Perk you get for choosing it as your main archetype is Spirited. Spirited increases the amount of Concoction buffs the Alchemist can have active at once.

Its unique trait is Potency. Potency increases the duration of consumables starting at 10% and increasing all the way up to 100%. While this is definitely a handy trait, it’s certainly not one of the more essential traits.

To summarize, the Alchemist is a great choice if you want to play the role of buffer in group play.
