If you’re looking for a new Job to add to your Eorzean Resume in Final Fantasy XIV, there are two that begin at level 50, which are pretty easy to unlock and a whole lot of fun to play. Thankfully, there’s no huge barrier to overcome before you can unlock them, either.
Once you’ve reached level 50 in any of the Disciple of War or Magic classes, you can begin to think about unlocking Samurai and Red Mage. Technically, these can be unlocked before the additional Jobs which begin at level 30, because those require you to have access to Ishgard. Samurai and Red Mage, however, begin in the starting areas of A Realm Reborn.
How to unlock Samurai in Final Fantasy XIV

There’s only one quest you need to complete in order to fully unlock Samurai, and most of the quests for this Job take place in the back room of the Gladiators’ Guild of all places.
To unlock Samurai, head to Ul’dah – Steps of Nald and find the Ul’dahn Citizen (X:9.2, Y:9.1) awaiting your arrival. Talk to them and pick up the quest called “The Way of the Samurai”.
This quest has a few steps to complete in order to fully unlock Samurai, but none of them are particularly challenging. Once you’ve completed “The Way of the Samurai”, you’ll be able to equip your Job Stone and play as the Job whenever you like.
How to unlock Red Mage in Final Fantasy XIV

Red Mage also unlocks in Ul’dah, but this time on the Steps of Thal. Head there and find the Distraught Lass (X:14.1, Y:11.7). Talking to her will provide you with the quest to unlock Red Mage, called “Taking the Red”.
Over the course of this initial quest, you’ll be introduced to the Trainer for the Red Mage Job, X’rhun Tia. As before, the steps of this quest aren’t particularly challenging, and you’ll be a fully-fledged Red Mage, wielding your Rapier in battle, in no time.
