To unlock multiplayer in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, you must complete the game’s prologue mission. This is essentially one decently long tutorial mission that teaches you how to use simple weapons, some useful techniques, and the overall flow and what to expect from the game.

It does not matter what difficulty you start your campaign on. You can change that anytime after. However, itā€™s better to start on lower difficulties if you arenā€™t too familiar with these types of horde shooter games.

Upon completing the first mission, youā€™ll see a few cutscenes and be taken to the central hub, where you will take on various missions and other activities. Right before taking on your first mission of the game, you will get a notification on your screen that ā€œOnline play is available now.ā€Ā

You can then invite friends to join your squad and head to the Battle Map to start a multiplayer session.

How to invite friends in Space Marine 2

To invite your friends to play with you in Space Marine 2, you should first check that you all have crossplay enabled. Your game should automatically opt you in with that option. Otherwise, check your settings and find it under the Game tab.

Next, all players must open up their Invite Menus at the top right of their screen. When you bring the menu up, a code will appear.

The host has to send the code to whoever they want to invite their friends to. All other players joining the host will enter the code given by the host to join their session. Do not enter your own Invite Code that you see on your screen.
