How to get Mushu in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Opening Mulan’s realm is the first step you need to take, requiring 15,000 Dreamlight. Once there, you’ll encounter Mushu and begin one of his quests. Complete the following missions to unlock Mushu in DDV (you’ll be participating in Mulan’s quests simultaneously):

During the A New Recruit quest, you must find the Training Uniform pieces within these areas:

  • Training Shirt: Inside one of the tents on the right side of the entrance
  • Training Socks: Inside of the tents on the left side of the main entrance
  • Training Pants: On a tree just before the main entrance (left side)
  • Training Shoes: Head down the pathway on the left from the tree to find the shoes on a rock

You can also check the link above if you need a better look at their specific locations. You’ll then need to prepare Mulan’s Congee, which requires Rice, Eggs, Mushroom, Garlic, and Ginger. Next, collect all of Mushu’s Dragon Statue materials to craft the Unfired Dragon Statue. He’ll instruct you to speak to Mulan at this point, linking to her The Defender’s Training quest (more about that below).

After you conclude this stage, the Clearing The Road quest will trigger. Mushu will once again ask you to assist Mulan with the Protecting the Camp quest, so follow the game’s guidelines. Fortunately, this part of the storyline will be pretty easy to complete.

Eventually, you’ll need to craft the Wooden Fence, which must be placed at the base of the mountain. Just go near the dirt pile where Mushu will be stationed.

Unlike Mulan, Mushu mandates one extra step to get him into Dreamlight Valley. Return to Mulan’s realm and speak to him about finding a lost key. Return to where you placed the Wooden Fence, and look for some wagons toward the right of it The key should be lying on the ground.

How to get Mulan in Disney Dreamlight Valley

As mentioned before, Mulan’s quests often tie in with Mushu’s, including these two missions:

  • A Defender’s Training:
    • Fish to exercise your precision and patience
    • Break bricks to develop your strength
    • Go orienteering to challenge your endurance
  • Protecting the Camp – Another easy quest to complete

Breaking the rocks should be easy enough in A Defender’s Training, as they’ll be next to Mulan (use your pickaxe). After this, speak to hear to begin the orienteering sub-quest. We also have a guide on all the Maze Pebble locations for this specific task.

Although the fish exercise seems pretty straightforward, it can be confusing, considering that the game doesn’t tell you how many critters to catch. Your goal here is to capture 10 Salmon and place them in the Cauldron.

Moving over to Protecting the Camp quest, we have pretty standard tasks of removing obstructions with your shovel and pickaxe. The only thing you may get stuck on is the part about picking up Broken Logs. Some will be on the ground, and others will require you to fish them out of the river.

A cutscene should trigger around this time, allowing you to get Mulan in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Return to the valley and place the new home by exchanging 20,000 Star Coins.
