An annoying sound
The sensor inĀ Tears of the KingdomĀ is an extremely useful tool for Link. However, the constant ringing can be very irritating, so you may want to turn it off. Thankfully, you can do that. It’s unfortunate it’s so hidden within Tears of the Kingdom‘s menu.
How to remove the sensor in Tears of the Kingdom
Those wanting peace and silence from the sensor should know that it can help you track light shrines all over Hyrule. If you’re close to one, it will begin to ring incessantly until you interact with the location. However, if you don’t need the help of the sensor ofĀ Tears of the Kingdom,Ā you can turn it off. Go to the map screen and then press the Y button. After that, select “Off” below the Shrine of Light.
Does the sensor in Tears of the Kingdom have other uses?
It can be easy to miss, but Link can unlock another use for the sensor. After completing your first temple, Robbie will return to hisĀ Hateno Ancient Tech Lab on the eastern hill nearby Hateno Village. Speak to him, and he’ll teach you how to use the sensor inĀ Tears of the Kingdom.Ā He tasks you in finding a nearby shrine. Go near the bottom of the hill, and you’ll find some rubble to your left.
The coordinates are: 3755, -2076, 0212. Break the rocks with a cannon, a hammer, or a bomb. Once inside, you’ll be at the Retsam Forest Cave. Follow the route, and you’ll find the Mayahisik Shrine. This one doesn’t have any puzzles involved, so enter and get a free Magic Sceptre and a Light of Blessing.
Once you’ve found it, return back to Robbie in his lab. Now the initial mission is completed, Robbie will provide upgrades to the Purah Pad. The most important for you right now is the Sensor+.Ā You’ll need to complete five entries in your Compendium with five types of monsters. Take pictures of the beasts you find on your adventures with your camera. After completing the task, you can now use your sensor to track whatever you’d like from the Hyrule Compendium. For example, if you need a Like Like Stone, you can track it with Sensor+.
Lastly, theĀ Travel MedallionĀ you can gain from going to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab will let you register your current location as a travel gate. It’s very useful if you run out of supplies like arrows or need to craft a potion for a tough battle. You may need to find more shrines to unlock it with Robbie.
