How to solve the castle lithograph puzzle in the Resident Evil 4 remake

You can flip the stones

Recommended Videos

The castle is full of puzzles in theĀ Resident Evil 4 remake. Some of them are new, like this one we’re talking about here, with lithographs! Wait, where are you going: lithographs can be fun! Well, not really, but here’s how to solve the puzzle anyway.

You’ll need to match the icons on the wall with the icons on each stone; including the icons that are rubbed off

Grab all three stones in the room (the fourth is available already on the puzzle itself) and then get situated by putting them all in place.

You’re able to freely move each stone around, andĀ flip them to the other side to view an alternate icon. This is the key to the puzzle. As I was slamming stones in each quadrant of the puzzle for a few minutes and wondering what was happening, something slowly occurred to me: you could flip them around with L1/R1 (LB/RB). Oops!

You’ll need to get the red helmet on the left and the red shield on the top: leaving room for two other blue icons on the right and bottom. There are doubles, however, so there’s a little less leeway in terms of multiple solutions. Here’s a clue to help ease you into the solution: the shapes that the icons are inside of will help you discern which blue stones need to go on the right and bottom.

Here’s the solution to the lithograph stone puzzle in the Resident Evil 4 remake:

  • Top: red shield
  • Left: Red helmet
  • Right: Blue sword
  • Bottom: Blue armor

Enter them in that order and the door will open. Congrats!
