To manually save your game, you will need to play through the campaign until you arrive at Myoko Village. There, you will need to visit the tent and then select the Save Game option by picking the green notebook in the top left corner. Select the Save slot you wish to use, and you will be good to go.

The game does maintain an autosave feature, but it gets triggered by major events rather than small ones, and this might be the type of game where you want to keep numerous save files, just in case. I’m not judging anyone for a bit of save scumming if you are in the mood for it. You do you. You may also need to stop playing in the middle of doing something in the bases, so having the option to just save and quit is quite helpful.

When you load back up the game, you can either load the files you want from the main menu, going with the autosave files, or just push up on the controller to get to your manual saves. You can also load at any time by going into the main pause menu and accessing the load option from there.
