Baldur’s Gate 3 is in no shortage of hapless Faerun citizens in need of a hero, and the spunky Tiefling child Arabella is among them. In Act 1, you’ll begin the Save Arabella quest line, and I’ll explain as someone with a mostly kind hearted Tav.
In my own experience, my completed BG3 Journal entry for this quest is listed as a two-parter. I’ll only cover Act 1’s first half as the Save Arabella quest. You won’t need to look after the little Tiefling again until Act 2.
Save Arabella in the Druids’ Grove
Upon reaching the Emerald Grove in Act 1, head down the settlement’s eastern staircase to watch the Tiefling parents, Komira and Locke, square up with the Druids. It seems the latter has taken the Tieflings’ daughter, Arabella, for trying to steal their idol, but — to their point — Arabella is a child.
To save Arabella from the immediate threat in the Druids’ grove:
- Speak to her parents
- Talk your way into the Emerald Grove
- Head through the nearby Stone Door to find Kagha
- Persuade Kagha to release Arabella
- Follow Arabella back to her parents’ side
- They thank you, offering Komira’s Locket as a reward

She’s being judged by Kagha, leader of the druids, and is clearly in trouble. Return to Arabella’s parents We managed to save Arabella, who immediately ran to her parents. Quest Completed! You’ll get Komira’s Locket for completing this first chunk of Arabella’s quest — that is, if you saved the little girl to begin with. It’s an easy way to get the Evocation Cantrip Dancing Lights for extra vision in dark places, and it’s rather handy until you gain a level or two elsewhere.
How to continue Arabella’s BG3 quest
This isn’t the only time you’ll encounter the young Tielfing, though it’s all you’ll need to do with her for a while. Upon reaching BG3’s Act 2, you’ll run into Arabella again in the Shadow-Cursed lands. Agree to help her for the Find Arabella’s Parents quest assignment, and make sure you wrap it up before leaving for Act 3.
As a side note, that idol she was talking about is the Idol of Silvanus in the center of the Emerald Grove. It’s not important to finish the quest with Arabella, but there’s another optional objective you can begin by seeking out Mol.
