Respeccing in Zelda returns!
One of the most useful things you can do in Breath of the Wild is swap around health and stamina, especially when it comes to story sequences that require shifting things around. Well, you can also do that in Tears of the Kingdom, and the process is even more conveniently easy to find. Here’s how to respec in Tears of the Kingdom.
You can find a respec statue at the emergency shelter in Lookout Landing
You’ll come across Lookout Landing very early in the game, directly after the tutorial. It’s located in Central Hyrule, directly below Hyrule Castle.
Walk to the center of the area and talk to the guard to open up the emergency shelter. Drop down and talk to the NPC near the ominous hole in the wall. You’ll get the “Who Goes There?” quest. Continue into the hole and blow up the rocks in front of you and the right: behold, there’s a statue in that little nook!
After talking to the statue, it will take an “essence” (a maximum heart) from you. Speaking to it again and choosing “give it back” will let you either re-apply the heart or swap it to a stamina meter increase. Congrats! You just did your first respec.
Following that, the “Who Goes There?” quest will pop and you can speak to the statue a limitless amount of times. It’ll take one essence from you again and gift you 100 Rupees, then “charge” you 20 Rupees to change it back into a heart container or a stamina bump. Repeat this to your heart’s content!
If you’re wondering whether or not this is even worth it, you will need two full stamina bars for a late-game story event: so going back here to quickly swap things around and then swap them back is a great little tip! You can even place a Traveler’s Medallion down right in front of the statue to return to it instantly.
