Enshrouded has a sizable skill tree with a ton of options for specializing a build, but it’s not the kind of game that requires completely planning your character out before you even get started. Resetting Skill Points is easy, so you’re free to experiment as much as you want.
Doing a skill point reset isn’t completely free, but it is something that you can do from home. Build and interact with the Flame Altar. The Altar gives you three different options: Upgrade Altar, Strengthen the Flame, and Reset Skill Points. For the low cost of 10 Runes, you can rebuild your character however you see fit.
Runes are one of the many different resources you’ll gather as you explore the world of Enshrouded. They’re most frequently found on the bodies of soldiers while exploring the Shroud. Farming isn’t required to get a decent supply of runes by any means, but when you need more, just grab a weapon and head into the Shroud. It won’t take long for you to find some enemies to fight and Runes to loot.
Don’t forget about the Flame Altar
In the early game, it’s especially easy to skip over the other two options you have at the Flame Altar, but they’re incredibly important for building and combat. Upgrading the Altar expands the amount of space your base can take up. You’ll need to gather Shroud Cores (or craft them with the help of the Alchemist) to make your home as big as possible.
Strengthening the Flame requires a Spark and a handful of other resources depending on your Flame’s current level. Every time you strengthen the Flame, character attributes and time in the Shroud increase for everyone on the server.
Don’t just place your Flame Altar and move on. Check back in every so often to ensure your character and your base are as strong as they can be.
