Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is just a day away and the hype for it is enormous and rightfully so. However, one country has the game before anyone else: New Zealand.
Via a tweet from Insomniac Games, the country has access to the web-slinging third entry first. If you live there, then you can play the game right now. If not, it’s okay because there is a chance you can play it, too. Well, if you’re willing to pay more for it.
World-Wide Web
As New Zealand has the earliest time zone (17+ from EST), it gets access to games before anyone else. So, as we speak, New Zealanders are swinging around New York as Peter or Miles, enjoying everything the game has to offer. For Spider-Fans who can’t wait until it releases tomorrow, there are two ways to get access to the game early.
The first is using a VPN and setting your country to New Zealand. If it works, you should get access to the game, as your WiFi is now set in New Zealand. However, many VPNs are expensive, especially ones that allow you to switch to certain countries.
The second way is to create a new account on your PlayStation 5. Then, you would set your country to New Zealand and make your city one of theirs. The downside to that is that you would have to purchase the game from there, so fans who already did so in the US or other countries are out of luck.
Still, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released for everyone in the US at midnight local time, so don’t stress too much. If you’re planning to get the game digitally, the pre-load window is open. Therefore, you can have it downloaded fully and play it right away. It certainly isn’t one to be missed, as our own Chris Carter rated Insomniac’s newest entry in the franchise a stunning 9 out of 10.
You can pre-order Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 here on the PlayStation Store.
