A must-know trick for 1v1 with the goalkeeper in FC 24.

One of those features is the shot cancel. This is not a new skill from FC 24, having been introduced in FIFA 22. However, it was only with FIFA 23 that the move gain much more popularity, given that there was a whole spell in both FIFA 23 and FC 24 where shot cancel was an ongoing meta for Ultimate Team.

Here is how to perform a shot cancel in FC 24:

  • To perform the shot cancel in FC 24, players first have to shoot.
  • To do a fake shot, press the Shoot button to shoot on your controller.
  • Immediately press L2 + R2/ LT + RT, and follow it up by pointing the left stick in the direction you want the player to move.

Shot cancel is a powerful dribbling move to pull off in FC 24. It is not a skill move that is dependent on any playerā€™s skill move rating, and it is also not dependent on the dribbling stats of a player. This means that any player in the game can execute a shot cancel.

As the name suggests, the shot cancel is a type of fake shot, but instead of any animation for the fake shot, the controller player will simply take the ball towards the desired direction after cancelling the shot. This shot cancel gives players more probability of keeping a hold of the ball. However, the main reason this move is popular is because it almost always makes the opponentā€™s goalkeeper dive, giving players the chance to take a touch and have a shot towards the open goal.
