How to mod a vehicle in Fortnite

If you want to let out your inner Mad Max in Fortnite, you can certainly do that. However, you’ll need to first mod a vehicle to get powerful weapons and other upgrades while driving.

Where to mod a vehicle in Fortnite

One of the first quests you can complete in this Fortnite season is to mod a vehicle with either a machine gun or a grenade launcher. Thankfully, it’s fairly easy to do. Spawn near the Nitrodrome and find a vehicle. Get inside and keep driving along the main roads of the map. You should see boxes scattered on the floor in random spots. Accelerate and ram them, and you’ll instantly get power-ups like the Machine Gun Turret in the picture above. Once you’ve done this, you’ll instantly earn 15K experience points.

However, the machine gun turrets and grenade launchers aren’t the only mods you can find in Fortnite. You can also get free repairs, a Cow Catcher front bumper (which rams foes), Bulletproof Tires, and Road Tires that bump up your vehicle’s maneuverability.

Which is best: the grenade launcher or machine gun turret?

Personally, I find the grenade launcher more effective than the machine gun turret. It can take out multiple foes in just a few hits. For example, I launched grenades toward the mob boss and his thugs near a weather station. Within a few seconds, they were brown bread, and I was able to score information on the next circle. It won’t beat how cool waterbending or firebending was from last season, however.

How to repair your car in Fortnite

Fortnite Season 5 Chapter 3 also brings repair stations into each garage. Park in the designated spot, and it will gradually build the HP of your vehicle in a few moments. If you can repair 500 damage, another quest will be completed for another 15K XP. If you want to get even more experience, go through a Flaming Boost Hoop three times.
