Your saving grace in an emergency

The Homeward Thundercloud is a consumable item in Palworld, meaning that you’ll use up one each time you use it. As such, it’s a good idea to stock up on the resources required and craft a bunch to use in emergencies, or if you’re simply too far from the nearest Fast Travel point.

To unlock the recipe for the Homeward Thundercloud, you’ll need to reach level 30 and it costs 2 Ancient Technology Points to unlock.

Once you’ve got a Homeward Thundercloud in your inventory, all you need to do it right click on it to use it. This will prompt a pop-up box to appear, asking you to confirm whether you want to return to base.

After selecting Confirm, the Homeward Thundercloud will be consumed and a small animation will play in which your character hops onto a physical Thundercloud. After a brief “charging up” period, the cloud will shoot into the air and you’ll be returned to your closest base.

Homeward Thunderclouds can be used during battle in the overworld, though not while fighting the Tower Boss Duos or within Dungeons.
