Luckily, you can also celebrate Turkey Day with your Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers on your island. It’s no wonder why it’s one of the best relaxing video games to play. You’ll need to make four dishes to properly assist Franklin in the town square. If you need the recipes, we’ve got them right here.

As mentioned, there are four dishes that you need to help Franklin with to properly celebrate Turkey Day. Here are the ingredients you need to bring him for each:

DishIngredientsReward
Pumpkin Pie1 Orange Pumpkin
1 Colored Pumpkin (Green, White, or Yellow)
Turkey Day Wall
Clam Chowder3 Manila ClamsTurkey Day Rug
GratinNorthern Hemisphere
1 Mussel
1 Mushroom (Flat Mushroom, Skinny Mushroom, or Round Mushroom)
1 Oyster
Southern Hemisphere
1 Squid
1 Sea Urchin
Turkey Day Flooring
Fish Meuniere 1 Sea Bass
1 Medium Fish (Red Snapper, Dab, or Olive Flounder)
Cornucopia

You can find Franklin cooking up dishes all day on Turkey Day in the town square, where he’ll ask specifically for each ingredient depending on what dish he’s making. So long as you’ve been taking care of your island and picking up items during your daily chores, none of these are hard to find.

As soon as you have the required ingredients, simply bring them back to Franklin in front of the Resident Services building and talk to him. He’ll take them from your inventory and get to cooking.

Take note that the Gratin recipe changes depending on what hemisphere you’re in. This is because the ingredients needed might not be available during that time of year in the other hemisphere, such as Mushrooms not being available in November in the Southern Hemisphere.

This is also true for the Fish Meuniere dish; in the Southern Hemisphere, you can’t find a Dab in November. So, you’ll have to catch either a Red Snapper or an Olive Flounder.

All secret ingredients for Turkey Day recipes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Once you’ve completed all of your dishes for Turkey Day, you can still earn some fun rewards by providing Franklin with the special secret ingredients for each Turkey Day dish. This will score you the DIY recipes for the Turkey Day items.

Here is the secret ingredient for each dish:

  • Pumpkin Pie: 2 Colored Pumpkins (whatever two colors you didn’t give to Franklin already)
  • Clam Chowder: 1 Scallop
  • Gratin: 1 Dungeness Crab
  • Fish Meuniere: 1 Barred Knifejaw

Franklin will not tell you what these ingredients are; however, you can get hints about them by chatting with your villagers around the island on Turkey Day. Make sure to have your fishing rod and swimsuit ready to go catch the Scallop, Dungeness Crab, and Barred Knifejaw.

If you’re missing any of the ingredients and can’t obtain them, such as all four pumpkin colors, visit your villager’s homes while they’re cooking. They can trade ingredients with you in exchange for specific items, like fish.

Keep bringing Franklin the secret ingredients so you can unlock all the Turkey Day DIY recipes.

When is Turkey Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

2024’s Turkey Day has already come to a close, as it’s celebrated in-game on the same day as the American Thanksgiving holiday.

Fortunately, this just means you’ll have plenty of time to prepare for next year’s event. Turkey Day 2025 should correspond with American Thanksgiving yet again, which is on November 27, 2025.
