How to level up your Data Bank or Terminal in Wuthering Waves

It's the basis of your power.

The Data Bank or Terminal is one of the most important things in Wuthering Waves, and knowing how to level it up efficiently can be a real game changer.

One of the main reasons you will want to level up your Data Bank is to get your hands on precious Force Release Components that will level up your maximum Stamina by 10 points, but there is a lot more to it than that.

How to level up your Terminal

To update your Terminal you need to defeat monsters so that they will drop Echoes. Each time you defeat a new monster of a certain rank, you will gain some Data Dock Experience that will go toward leveling your Terminal. This is where it gets a little complicated, so bear with me.

You will ONLY get the Data Dock Experience the first time you Echo that you collect from the monsters at each rank. So, let’s say you defeat a green level Zig Zag and get an Echo, this will give you 10 XP. If you defeat another green level Zig Zag, you will not get any Data Dock Experience toward your Terminal Rank, no matter what. Instead, you need to progress through the creature Ranks, defeating higher and higher ranks as you go.

  • Rank 2 Rarity (Green) gives 10 XP
  • Rank 3 Rarity (Blue) gives 10 XP
  • Rank 4 Rarity (Purple) gives 15 XP
  • Rank 5 Rarity (Yellow) gives 20 XP

Getting from Rank 0 to Rank 1 of the Terminal is pretty easy, as you can do so with just 30 Data Dock Experience. When you have earned enough XP, a message will populate on the screen, letting you know you have ranked up. You will need to go into the Data Bank menu to collect the reward manually, so make sure you do that quickly to get your extra Stamina. The required experience to get from one rank to the next will increase over time.

The feedback loop to all this is that you need to level up your Data Bank to higher and higher levels to improve your Echo absorption rate and also to be able to catch rarer types of monsters. The main focus should be on getting to Rank 15, as this will unlock the highest rank absorption, and ensure you are getting the best possible chances at the rarest Echo drops.
