Not a difficult task

College Football 25 has finally been released after years of development, and as a college football simulator, the game accurately reflects almost everything that happens on the field.

While Touchdowns are always clutch, field goals are invaluable, especially when the time is almost over. Mastering your kicks will help you score these field goals, and sending longer punts will make it harder for the opponents to score.

How to kick and score a Field Goal in College Football 25

There are two different elements that you’ll have to master.

  • The directional reticle, which is controlled by the LS.
  • The power bar, controlled by the X/A button.

Kicking the ball is pretty simple, and the power bar is your best guide.

  • Hold the X/A button when the small arrow is in green. Green is the ideal outcome, and your kick will be inaccurate if you press the button in yellow or red.
  • Keep hold of the X/A button as the power will start rising.
  • Make sure that the power doesn’t reach the red zone. If it does, your kick will go out of bounds.
  • Once you’re satisfied with the power of your kick, let go of the X/A button.

Here’s another critical point to keep in mind – don’t try to change the direction reticle if you’re kicking from the middle of the pitch. In my experience, leaving it at default works just fine. However, if you have to change the direction sideways, make sure to keep the wind speed and direction in mind.

To practice your kicks in College Football 25, you can do so in the ‘open practice’ section. Alternatively, the Ultimate Team mode has specific challenges that ask you to score a field goal.

How to punt in College Football 25

The control of sending a punt in the game is the same as scoring a field goal. However, mastering the power meter is vital. When scoring a field goal, you don’t need to go for maximum power. In the case of a punt, going for maximum power (without hitting the red mark) is key.

The direction reticle should be kept as default unless the wind speed has a massive influence. With punts, the chance of messing up is lot less than field goals.
