Getting tougher

Increasing Leon’s maximum health in Resident Evil 4Ā remake will make the hero stronger against the likes of El Giganto, Garrador, and even more daunting bosses. However, this feature is never taught to you by the game, so you could be leaving valuable upgrades on the table.

The process is relatively simple, but you’ll need to find the right ingredients to increase Leon’s maximum health. Here’s how to do that in the remake of Resident Evil 4.

To maximize Leon’s health in the Resident Evil 4Ā remake, you’ll need to find Red, Yellow, or Green Herbs. These are scattered all across the vast horror landscape in the game. Make sure to check every nook and cranny to spot these ingredients, like the deadly valley that has swarms of villagers attacking you.

Once you have a Red Herb, Green Herb, and Yellow Herb, head over to your “Items” menu. Now, select either a Red or Green Herb and choose “Craft” from the menu. For best results, select “Mixed Herb (G+R+Y)” to craft a concoction that will greatly restore HP and boost maximum HP. You can opt to mix any combination of these herbs, but the effect won’t be as potent. For example, a “Mixed Herb (G+Y)” will quickly raise maximum health, but you’ll lack the bonus healing the Red Herb would apply. Either way, you’ll see an animation on the bottom right showing Leon’s HP going up.

Other herb mixtures

There are other things to keep in mind when mixing herbs together in the Resident Evil 4Ā remake. Any Green and Red Herb mixture gives three times as much health as one regular Green Herb by itself. You can mix three Green Herbs together, but you won’t receive any extra healing compared to using the herbs individually. Mixtures like these help conserve inventory space, and incomplete concoctions can still mix with other herbs if you find them later on.
