How to get your beta rewards in The First Descendant

Claim every exclusive item you possibly can.

The First Descendant is an online looter shooter in which you and three friends can jump into missions to conquer towering bosses and claim the best weapons and gear possible. It’s frantic, fun, and filled with all sorts of items you feel like you absolutely must get your hands on. Some of which are limited and exclusive.

While The First Descendant has its share of exclusive items that are locked behind a premium currency and season pass, it’s also got a few that are extremely limited. These are restricted to only those players who participated in the game’s beta. This means you can’t get them anymore if you only joined the game at launch, so like me, you’ll have to watch on jealously as those early bird players flaunt the most exclusive gear in the game. Unless you participated in the beta, too, that is.

To claim your beta rewards in The First Descendant for participating in either the Steam Close Beta in October 2022 or the Crossplay Open Beta in September 2023, you need to progress through the opening tutorial levels until you reach Albion. Once there, you’ll gain access to all of your beta rewards through your Mailbox.

Note that you’ll need to log in to The First Descendant on the platforms on which you participated in these betas. If you played both on PC, this just means linking your Steam account, but you might need to link a PlayStation or Xbox account as well if you played the Open Beta on those platforms.

Below, I’ve listed every reward you can get in The First Descendant for both of the game’s betas. There are different rewards for each beta, so keep an eye out for the exact beta you participated in because you can’t claim rewards unless you were part of that early playtest.

I’ve included details of what you had to do in these betas to get these rewards, too, because you can’t get all of them just for showing up. Most required a lot of work at the time.
