With the release of Dawntrail, a new and rather cute barding has been added — the Wild Ride Barding. This Barding will not only put your Chocobo in a poncho and sombrero, the perfect look for a trek across Shaaloani, but also give them their own mini companion in the shape of a Cactuar balancing on their tail feathers.

Getting your hands on this Barding is pretty simple. If you’ve ever taken part in The Hunt in Shadowbringers, Endwalker, or now Dawntrail areas, you’ll have Sacks of Nuts. This currency item can be exchanged for a wide variety of items, including Wild Ride Barding.

To purchase the Barding, you’ll first have to unlock the Dawn Hunt. which can be done by going to Tuliyollal and talking to the Wing of Protection Scout (X:11.8, Y:13.7). Complete the quest ‘A New Dawn, a New Hunt’, and this will not only unlock the Dawn Hunt itself, but also the Dawn Hunt Vendor.

The Vendor is called Ryubool Ja, and is located directly to the left of the Hunt Board in Tuliyollal (X:13.9, Y:13.4). He has many wares for sale in exchange for Sacks of Nuts, including the Wild Ride Barding for 640 Sacks of Nuts.
