How to get Uchigatana in Elden Ring

The starter that you can finish the game with.

The Uchigatana is one of the best Katanas and overall weapons in Elden Ring. It’s quick, easy to use, to upgrade, and amazing at dishing out tons of damage. The best part about it is that it’s a starter weapon, which you can obtain if you simply pick the Samurai class in the character creator.

If that was not the case and you went with a different class, then fret not. This amazing weapon is readily available somewhere in the Lands Between, and I’m here to help you get to it.

Uchigatana location in Elden Ring

The Uchigatana is in a place called Deathtouched Catacombs in the Stormhill area of Limgrave, which is a bit to the north of the place where we begin the game. Getting there is easy, and the catacombs themselves aren’t much of a hassle, but that’s likely where most of the challenge will reside.

Once you go in, turn left, go down the flight of stairs, and continue along the wall to your right. The ensuing room is full of skeleton archers: I recommend you either kill them or sprint past them and to the room on your front, which has the lever that you’ll have to pull.

Once you’ve pulled the lever, go back to the room with the stairs, and you’ll see a passageway below them on your left. Go through it, and then enter the room on your left. This is where you’ll find the Uchigatana by a corpse.

This whole process will likely take you less than two minutes, and it will grant you a weapon that’ll last you the entire game, so I’d say it’s pretty worthwhile.
