In order to complete the secret quest and obtain the Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren secret mount in World of Warcraft, you’ll also need to acquire the Whirling Runekey. Here is how to get the Whirling Runekey in WoW so that you can get the secret Thrayir mount.
Where to get the Whirling Runekey
You can get the Whirling Runekey specifically as a drop off of Ksvir the Forgotten, a rare spawn in The Forgotten Vault at Siren Isle. After entering The Forgotten Vault, head to the southernmost large chamber of the vault, which is where you will find Ksvir in WoW.
Despite being a rare spawn, Ksvir the Forgotten will spawn during the Seafury Tempest phase of the event that takes place during the storm event. The spawn timer for Ksvir during this event is very short, appearing to respawn the rare every five minutes or so.
In order to trigger the storm event you need to complete the Serpent’s Wrath weekly quest for Siren Isle by doing World Quests and events around the island. Once triggered, you can speak with the NPC Suzie Boltwrench at the quest hub to enter and exit the storm event.
Defeating Ksvir the Forgotten during the storm event will guarantee the Whirling Runekey to drop.
How to use the Whirling Runekey
The Whirling Runekey is just one of five Runekeys you will need in order to obtain the Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren secret mount. Here are all five Runekeys you will need and how to get them:
- Whirling Runekey – Drops off Ksvir the Forgotten during the storm event
- Torrential Runekey – Drops off any mob during the storm event
- Thunderous Runekey – Acquire and assemble five Thunderous Fragments found in chests around the Siren Isle during the storm event
- Cyclonic Runekey – Drops off Zek’ul the Shipbreaker during the storm event
- Turbulent Runekey – Acquire and assemble three Turbulent Fragments found around the Siren Isle
Once you have all five Runekeys including the Whirling Runekey, activate the Runestones at Thrayir in The Forgotten Vault and you will receive the secret Thrayir mount!
