While the new story, changes to Onslaught, and an exotic grenade launcher have taken center stage in Destiny 2 recently, one of the more hidden changes is three new exotic armors. There’s one for each class and they further enhance your Stasis capabilities. In a Stasis-focused season, that has serious potential.
One of these three exotics, particularly for the Warlock, is great at improving one of the best aspects of the Stasis subclass. Here’s how to get the Rime-Coat Raiment exotic chest armor in Destiny 2.
Where to get the Rime-Coat Raiment in Destiny 2
The Rime-Coat Raiment is exclusive to the Focused Decoding system, which can be found by speaking with Master Rahool. He can be found in the Tower, just right of where you spawn. To access this menu, open up his Engram Focusing page (found through the tab featuring an Exotic Engram as its image) and head to the third page. Here, you should see a bunch of different exotics to purchase.
There’s a very good chance some of these exotics (including the Rime-Coat Raiment) will be greyed out. To access them, you’ll need to get Master Rahool’s reputation to level 16 and reset his rank. This needs to be done once an episode, so if you already did this in Episode: Echoes, you’ll need to do it again. Once you have that, you’ll also need to get an Exotic Cipher and an Exotic Engram. Exotic Engrams are given when completing three, six, and nine strikes each week. Otherwise, you’ll need to claim and complete the Xenology quest once a week to receive an Exotic Cipher. This quest is given by Xur.
With all of the above done, you should be able to secure yourself the Rime-Coat Raiment.
Is the Rime-Coat Raiment worth using?
The Rime-Coat Raiment’s exotic perk, Bleak Domain, enhances the Bleak Watcher turrets from the aspect of the same name to gain increased range. They also get Stasis crystals and a storm surrounding their landing zone. Standing in this storm grants you or an ally the Icicles buff. Each icicle activates when firing your weapon, slowing whatever your bullets hit. Due to how powerful the Bleak Watcher turrets are already, this is well worth running with a Stasis build. Playing defensively is the name of the game in high-level PvE content, so you’ll make great use of that storm feature added to your turrets. Stasis Crystals are also a serious help for getting your ult back quickly, so having more of them is awesome.
