To help all looking to get the DMG increase the armor pieces will offer and who do not mind the received damage boost the items will bring to the table, here’s how to get the Rakshasa armor set and the Rakshasa’s Great Katana in Elden Ring.

How to get the Rakshasa armor set and the Rakshasa’s Great Katana in Elden Ring

You can get both the Rakshasa armor set and the Rakshasa’s Great Katana in Elden Ring by defeating the Rakshasa boss in the Ruins of Unte’s Eastern Nameless Mausoleum. After entering the Land of Shadow as part of Shadow of the Erdtree, you will be able to find the mausoleum by first heading south from the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace until you reach the Recluses’ River Downstream one. Just brace yourself, as you will need to get past a Furnace Golem to do so.

You can check out the path you must take if you want to reach the Recluses’ River Downstream Site of Grace while not awakening the golem below:

After reaching the Site of Grace, you will be able to find the mausoleum by heading to the ledge located to its left and then platforming down until you spot the pathway featured in the second image below. Now, simply follow the path until you spot the mausoleum at a distance. On your way there, make sure to also examine the corpse by the waterfall to get the Dryleaf Robe, Arm Wraps, and Cuissardes.

Once at the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum, simply enter and then go down the stairs to face Rakshasa. Don’t forget to interact with the Statue of Marika at the entrance so that you can respawn there if the worst happens. After the fight, you will automatically receive all items that are part of the armor set and the Rakshasa’s Great Katana.

How to reach the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace

You can reach the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace by first going to the large open area leading to the Storehouse, First Floor one. Once there, head to the right and then go down the ladder located in the spot marked in the image below. You can reach the area featuring the ladder for the first time by following the path left of the Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace.

After doing the above, head toward a hidden chamber highlighted in the first image below. Inside, you will be met with another ladder leading further down. The ladder will lead you to a sewer facing a room housing both the Domain of Dragons Painting and a fake wall at its right. Hit the wall to continue.

Now that you unlocked a new path, follow it and interact with the coffin at its end, which will trigger a cutscene and cause the Tarnished to go down to the area below. Once the cutscene is over, simply head toward the open area to spot the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace.

Rakshasa’s Great Katana stats and scaling

Contrary to what many would expect, the Rakshasa’s Great Katana is not an Arcane weapon. Instead, it primarily scales off Dexterity ā€”in a fashion similar to the Hand of Melania. True to that, the weapon will have an initial scaling of E Strength and C Dexterity. You will also need to have at least 12 and 27 in the respective stats to wield it. This makes the Rakshasa’s Great Katana the most stat-demanding of its class in Elden Ring.

The weapon’s biggest differential, however, lies in its Weed Cutter Unique Weapon Skill, which allows you to perform a series of horizontal slashes for as long as your stamina holds. You can check out an overview of all of the weapon’s stats below:

  • Type: Great Katana (Slash/Pierce)
  • Requirements: 12 Strength and 27 Dexterity
  • Initial Scaling: E Strength and C Dexterity
  • Scaling at +10: D Strength and B Dexterity
  • Weapon Skill: Weed Cutter (Unique) / FP Cost: 8
  • Weight: 9.5
  • Attack Power: Physical 155 and 100 Critical
  • Attack Power at +10: 379 Attack
  • Guarded Damage Negation: 25.0 Physical, 24.0 Magic/Fire/Lightning/Holy, 35 Guard Boost
  • Passive Effects: 55 blood loss buildup per hit
  • Passive: You are less likely to get staggered by counterattacks. The Tarnished will also take increased damage.

How to use and the best talismans for the Rakshasa’s Great Katana in Elden Ring

I recommend wielding the Rakshasa’s Great Katana while two-handed, as its jumping attack range and poke will allow you to get an edge when facing both small enemies and players in PvP. The weapon can also hold its own against most bosses given its fast attack speed and non-reliance on passive effects.

Talisman-wise, using the Two-Handed Sword Talisman is a must, as the item will increase the damage of all non-Ash related attacks performed while using a two-handled weapon by 15%. The talisman also stacks with more specific damage-related ones, such as the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia. Using the Shard of Alexander can also work well for those looking to rely on Weed Cutter, as the item will increase the damage of each slash by 15%.
