Fisch features dozens of rods to help you catch fish easily. Some are available early on, while others, like the No-Life Rod, require grinding player levels. Fortunately, you don’t have to rely on RNG for this, as unlocking the No-Life Rod is only a matter of time and dedication.

How to unlock the No-Life Rod in Fisch
Unlocking the No-Life Rod in Fisch requires reaching player level 500. There are no other requirements: once you reach level 500, a message will appear on your screen, letting you know something has changed. Upon opening your inventory, you’ll find the No-Life Rod in all its glory, ready to use.
In short, playing Fisch for hours and catching thousands of fish is the secret to getting one of the best rods in the game. You’ll get plenty of other rods along the way, but few trump the No-Life Rod in overall stats and passive abilities.
How to reach level 500 quickly in Fisch
Going from level one to 500 will always be a massive grind, no matter what rods or fish you catch. Nonetheless, there are a few ways to make this process quicker, especially if you already have access to some powerful rods and mid to late-game areas.
There are three parts to making leveling easier in Fisch:
- Your rod and enchants
- Your fishing location
- Double XP buffs
Fishing rods and enchants
The first part is having the right rod and enchants. If you’re still in the early game, you’ll want to stick to options like the Carbon Rod before grabbing ones like the Nocturnal or Steady Rods later in your playthrough.
If you’re already in the late-game but aren’t quite high enough level for the No-Life Rod, you have a ton of other options, from the Aurora and Mythical Rods to the elusive Heaven’s Rod. The Wisdom Rod is a solid alternative if you’re specifically looking to farm EXP and don’t care about anything else.
Enchants also play a role in leveling quickly, as ones like Hasty and Abyssal will almost always be your best bet. Every rod has ideal enchants, which we’ve explored in great detail within our Fisch Rod Enchant guide.
Best fishing locations for leveling
Next up is fishing locations. Currently, the best place to go is farming Captain’s Goldfish on the Forsaken Shore. Even with Fisch’s updates over time, this is still the game’s best money-making and EXP-farming location.
Aside from this, you have a few other locations and methods to use:
- The Depths
- Ancient Isle
- Harvester’s Spike (especially with Aurora Totems if you’re in a group)
- Roslit Bay
- Snowcap Island
Using Double XP buffs
An optional method to double your XP gain automatically is to purchase the Double XP buff from the in-game store for 199 Robux. You’re not required to use this to reach level 500, but it’ll make the grind much faster. The downside is that there’s no way to get this aside from using Robux, requiring you to spend real money.
However, there are ways to get other items for free, such as faster Lure Speed temporarily, various baits, and cash by redeeming Fisch codes. You won’t see many XP multiplier buffs here. Fortunately, the free resources you get will help make the grind a little easier.
No-Life Rod stats
Since the No-Life Rod has such a hefty level requirement, it’s no surprise that it has equally impressive stats. Below are its overall stats and passive abilities:
- Lure: 90%
- Luck: 105%
- Control: 0.23
- Resilience: 10%
- Max Kg: Inf.
- High chance for caught fish to have the Hexed mutation (1.5x Value). Has a chance to stab a fish while catching it, briefly stunning it and increasing progress.
Impressive, right? With high lure speed, infinite max kg, and a unique passive ability, the No-Life Rod is among the best in Fisch. While others like Heaven’s Rod and Rod of the Eternal King are equally impressive in other ways, the No-Life Rod remains one of the best, if not the number one, rod in the game.
