There are a lot of glamour items in Final Fantasy XIV. Some of them are sleek, some of them are dark, and others are just plain hilarious. A new glamour of the last variety was added with Dawntrail, the Mica Suit, but it’s not exactly easy to get.
To begin with, you’ll need at least one class at level 100 – this isn’t too hard, you can pretty easily level all the way through the MSQ alone. Then, you’ll need to unlock flight in Living Memory by unlocking all of the Aether Currents in the area. This isn’t exactly vital, provided you have a generous friend who doesn’t mind flying you to the very specific location, but it’s definitely recommended.
How to get the Mica Suit in Final Fantasy XIV
The Mica Suit is, for all intents and purposes, a mascot costume of one of the characters found in Yesterland. It’s a chubby chipmunk with a tailcoat and a hat, and best of all, comes with two dye slots – one for the fur and another for the clothes – making it incredibly customizable.
To get your hands on the Mica Suit, you’ll need to complete one of the new level 100 Special FATEs added in Dawntrail, Mascot Murder. This FATE is difficult to spawn, requiring two other FATEs to be completed before it even has a small chance of spawning within its availability window.
The fight itself is a challenge, as well, with new mechanics and distractions designed to see you fail. It’s not too difficult to survive after a few attempts, but you might spend a lot of time on the floor during your first run.
Depending on your level of participation, you’ll receive between two and six Mica Magicogs once this Special FATE is completed. You’ll need to complete it at least twice to get the necessary number of Mica Magicogs.
Where to spend Mica Magicogs in Final Fantasy XIV
When you’ve saved up a total of 10 Mica Magicogs, you can head to Solution Nine and use the Aethernet system to travel to Nexus Arcade. Here, head to the center of the room and talk to Uah’shepya (X:8.7, Y:13.5).
Under “Sublime Curiosities”, you’ll find both the Mica Head (4 Mica Magicogs) and the Mica Suit (6 Mica Magicogs).
