How to get the Helstrum in Warframe

Unleash "Hel" upon your foes.

When it comes to upgrading equipment in Warframe, you’re mainly thinking about a few key areas. Your frame naturally comes first, followed by your primary, secondary, and melee weapons. However, it’s important not to neglect other parts of your build. Namely, your companion, who can help you a ton. Here’s how to get the Helstrum companion weapon in Warframe.

The Helstrum blueprint can be acquired through Legs, found on the right side of the Fortuna hub on Venus. You must complete the Vox Solaris main quest if you don’t have access to Fortuna yet. Once you do, speak to Legs and select the Browse Wares option. The Helstrum should appear as one of the last options, available for 10,000 Standing with Solaris United. You must be Rank 5: Old Mate with the faction to purchase its blueprint.

Once you have the Helstrum Blueprint, you need the following materials to craft it:

  • 50,000x Credits
  • 10x Star Crimzian
  • 10x Star Amarast
  • 10x Recaster Neural Relay
  • 1x Synathid Ecosynth Analyzer

The Star Crimzian and Star Amarast are the built forms of several minerals found in the Orb Vallis, Venus’ open world. You can purchase the blueprints for them through Smokefinger in Fortuna. As for the Recaster Neural Relay and Synathid Ecosynth Analyzer, you can acquire these by disassembling the Recaster and Synathid Servofish at The Business, also found in Fortuna.

Once you have the supplies, start building and wait 24 hours. After that point, you’ll have the Helstrum to attach to any companion that can take a weapon slot.

Is the Helstrum worth using?

The Helstrum is a micro-missile launcher that fires four missiles with each barrage, dealing mainly Impact damage and Heat damage. These missiles home in on the target, so it’ll be rare to see them miss. Among the community, the Helstrum is currently considered the second-best companion weapon, only beaten by the Verglas. Provided you build its mods for various Status Effects, it should prove useful.
