How to Get The Devilfoil Mask in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

Get a backup mask for your backup mask.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is easily one of the most talked about games on the internet and off, seemingly with as many things to find as there are people playing. It’s truly a game of secrets, as a ton of items and gameplay elements are hiding just beneath the surface for players to find.

One such item is the rather elusive Devilfoil Mask, which allows players to activate an unlisted effect, “Infernal Legion.” This effect adds a point to STR but decreases INT, CHA, and WIS by 1 for every creature also wearing a Devilfoil Mask that is within 20 meters from their location. So, where is this hard-to-find item in Baldur’s Gate 3? Let’s get into it!

Where to find the Devilfoil Mask in Baldur’s Gate 3?

It’s important to note there are multiple locations where you’ll be able to add a Devilfoil Mask to your inventory, with four available in total.

To start, you’ll generally want to focus your search in the Grymforge area. You’ll find one Devilfoil Mask in the main hall on a table, which — admittedly — is a strange place to find a helmet, but let’s avoid questioning it so long as you can add this tricky helm to your collection. If you look inside a cave that’s been caved in, you can find a secondary mask right next to a skeleton. Poor chap.

The next — and final — two opportunities to find the Devilfoil Mask involve the Merregon Legionnaire, a fiend that you’ll encounter in this area. You can loot one of them from the Merregon Legionnaire while the other will be nearby; it’s sitting on an altar in the same room, so inspect it, and you’ll be able to claim the fourth mask.
