You can get it for free in Chapter 10
Having a ton of different weapons in the Resident Evil 4 remake can be a boon. Not only do you have more options for bosses, but you can weave loadouts in and out of storage to make use of pretty much every piece of firepower you have. You might want to set some time aside to pick up the CQBR assault rifle and stock it up with ammo: here’s how to do that.
How to get the CQBR assault rifle & ammo Resident Evil 4 remake
In Chapter 9 of the Resident Evil 4 remake, Ashley will venture through a library-like zone with a lamp; fending off infested knight enemies (called Armadura). Up in the corner is a small staircase, which hides the CQBR assault rifle. The catch? You need to return to this zone in Chapter 10 with Leon to actually pick it up.
Go through the doorway that opened up after you placed all three heads on the statue, and veer left to enter the library. As soon as you enter the room turn right (you may need to pull the staircase down by going into the back right-hand corner of the room), and make your way to the staircase. Use the cubic device to open up the wall and grab the assault rifle. You do not need to fight the knights here and have plenty of room to dodge/parry/run away.

Move the block as pictured above, so that the ridges on the top and bottom fit correctly, and the rectangular hole is on the left.
What ammo does the CQBR use and how much space does it take up?
While it’s fantastic for dealing tons of damage quickly to bosses, the CQBR takes up a whopping 14 slots in your attache case. The CQBR also uses rifle ammo, which can be hard to find throughout the game.
Note that this is potentially a problem for folks who have been using rifles all the way up through Chapter 10, as they’re going to have less rifle ammo on hand. To get more rifle ammo you’ll need to find it in the wild, or craft it yourself with 10 Gunpowder and 1 Large Resource. While you can buy Gunpowder at The Merchant for Spinels it’s a rather expensive trade, so keep that in mind when using this precious resource.
