How to get the Blackwall Quickhack and Erebus weapon in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

This doesn't at all seem like a bad idea.

There’s just something about spooky AI that gets me all kinds of excited. While the Blackwall in Cyberpunk 2077‘s universe might be keeping some rogue AIs out, it’s clearly imperfect. At the end of the Phantom Liberty campaign, V has the chance to get their hands on some preem Blackwall-enhanced gear, the Militech Canto MK.6 and Erebus SMG. Here’s how.

How to get Militech Canto MK.6

There are several steps necessary to get the blueprint required. The first is to side with Reed and try to capture Songbird during the Firestarter mission. In the next mission, Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos, V will need a netrunner. Contact Mr. Hands who will arrange one in Kabuki after V hands over $15,000.

When V meets with the netrunner, who turns out to be Yoko, she’ll make a proposal after decrypting the data. Agree and proceed to the setup. From here, you’re supposed to contact Mr. Hands with the location. I didn’t but was still able to progress. Track Songbird to the hidden Militech facility which begins the Somewhat Damaged job.

The majority of this mission relies on sneaking around while not being murdered by an AI-possessed robot. The blueprint for the Militech Canto MK.6 is found in the Experimental Prototyping room. V can either hack the door terminal or enter the passcode (714212). From there, complete the mission however you see fit.

V will be back in their apartment and Johnny will begin a dialogue. Following that, you’ll want to skip some time until V gets a message from an unknown sender. There’s definitely nothing suspicious about this text at all. This begins The Corrosion mission. Go talk with Yoko again, who will work her magic. From here, V can craft the Militech Canto MK.6.

    • Automatically consumes RAM every time it spreads. Each spread has a shorter upload time and a higher RAM cost than the last. But the cost can be cut in half if you’re willing to pay in blood…

How to get the Erebus

Getting the Erebus is identical to getting the Militech Canto MK.6 except its blueprint is located in the Maintenance room. V can either hack this door terminal or restore power via the Storage room across the hall.

Erebus Tier 5++ Stats

  • Attack Speed: 6.02
  • Damage: 77.40
  • Reload Speed: 1.80
  • Effective Range: 18
  • Weapon Handling: 5.53
  • +100% Headshot Damage Multiplier
  • +25% Armor Penetration
  • Rounds fired from this weapon are infused with the dark energy from beyond the Blackwall. Highly effective against enemies with low health.

Erebus Quotes

  • “Human input is so very… tedious.”

Should you make the Erebus or Militech Canto MK.6?

This one’s hard to say. From a practical standpoint, the Erebus SMG has a lot more usage to V. It absolutely shredded through everything I pitted it against. Depending on when you play Phantom Liberty in comparison to the rest of the main campaign, it can carry you the rest of the way.

However, for those wanting to make a netrunner build that relies on stealth and hacking, the Militech Canto MK.6 is the way to go. There are a lot of other netrunner decks that can be used, but for immersion, there’s nothing like the thought of V being infected by a rogue AI and spreading its influence throughout Night City.

Can you get both Erebus and Militech Canto MK.6?

Players are supposed to make a choice with the one crafting material they have. However, with this being a single-player game and consequences be damned, you can pop open the Console Command and input the following codes to get each.

  • Erebus SMG
    • Game.AddToInventory(“Items.Preset_Borg4a_HauntedGun”, 1)
  • Militech Canto MK.6
    • Game.AddToInventory(“Items.HauntedCyberdeck_Legendary”, 1)
