How to get the Barbarian armor set in Tears of the Kingdom

There are three pieces in all

Recommended Videos

The prodigal piece of armor returns inĀ Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the admirable attack-power-increasing Barbarian armor is fully accessible fairly early on, provided that you’re willing to walk. Here’s where to find all three pieces and complete the set (note that these can be done in any order).

How to get the Barbarian Armor legs

The first cave that we’ll talk about that houses the Barbarian Armor is located right in the Walnot Mountain Cave east of Hateno village and below Mount Lanaryu.

Enter the cave and veer right. Once you get to the Like Like (the slug-like enemy sticking to the ceiling), jump past it and enter the small hovel to pick up the Barbarian Armor legs. Just melt the ice with any fire effect (Fire Fruit works great) and open the chest.

Just like the other caves, you do not need to fight any enemies or complete some sort of challenge to pick up the Barbarian Armor here. You can just run through and open the chest if you want.

How to get the Barbarian Armor head

You’ll find the Barbarian Armor head at the Robred Dropoff Cave (it’s at ground level, which makes it easy to find). Located in-between Kakariko Village and Hateno, it’s on a darker mountain path just south of the phrase “Phalian Highlands” on the world map. It’s very easy to get to from the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, as there are many sky island footholds for you to restore your stamina on.

Enter the cave and read the tablet to pick up a hint on how to get to the prize at the end: follow the paths that the statues are looking at. Veer right down the path, then smash open the rock wall and continue down the left path. Enter the big room and open up the rocks in the middle of the room. Drop down and keep going until you reach several platforms with statues, almost like grave markers.

Trigger Ascend on the platform with three statues, and rise up to a treasure chest room. Grab the Barbarian Armor legs!

How to get the Barbarian Armor chest

The chest can be found in Crenel Hills Cave, slightly northeast of Central Hyrule. Crenel Hills is marked on the map if you need guidance, or you can consult the images above.

After walking into the cave, follow the path and veer left alongside of the cavern wall. Look up at the large rock formation to the north: blow it up (Bomb Flowers are located right in the cave) and climb up the pathway. You do not need to take on the Talos in the room.

Open the chest and the Barbarian Armor is yours!
