How to get the Ashta Tamer in Starfield

There are plenty of powerful shotguns in Starfield, and the Ashta Tamer is one of the best you can get early on. As the name suggests, the Ashta Tamer is ideal for dealing with Ashtas, which are the terrifying creatures you’ll find on the planet Akila.

The gun is relatively easy to get, and you won’t have a hard time finding ammo for it. This guide will show you what you need to do if you want an Ashta Tamer in Starfield.

Where to find the Ashta Tamer in Starfield

You can find the Ashta Tamer during the mission titled Empty Nest. It’s the third main quest, and it has you traveling to Akila where you’ll cross paths with the hostile Ashtas. After stopping a robbery in Akila City, you and Sam will retrieve a map which will lead you to a cave that is being searched by the Shaw Gang. Inside the cave, you’ll find the weapons case holding the Ashta Tamer.

This is a unique weapon, so you can’t buy it. However, you can purchase the Bridger which the Ashta Tamer is based on. You’ll find the Bridger in New Atlantis, which is the main settlement on Jemison which is part of the Alpha Centauri system. Just head to the shop called Centaurian Arsenal. It’s in the Residential District, not too far from Reliant Medical.

The Ashta Tamer has a wooden handle and respectable stats that make it well-equipped to rip through enemies. It delivers 127 Physical damage and it has a 63.4% accuracy rate. Mod the gun, and you’ll more out of it. Sometimes, it’ll randomly deliver incendiary rounds that light your foes on fire.
