Armor of Doom is one of Fortnite’s most powerful items, turning you into Doctor Doom himself and unleashing his power onto the land. If you enjoy his Arcane Gauntlets, be prepared to use these and more after embracing Doom’s power.
Where to find the Armor of Doom in Fortnite
Armor of Doom is an item exclusive to Fortnite’s Isle of Doom, also known as Doom Island. By traveling to the island and interacting with the Cauldron of Power, you’ll embrace Doom’s power and unlock this armor, giving you all of his abilities and becoming one of the strongest people in your lobby.
Finding Doom Island
Finding Doom Island requires getting a little lucky. In each match, the usual floating Loot Island has a five per cent chance of turning into the Isle of Doom, meaning you’ll average finding it once every 20 matches. Loot Island also doesn’t spawn until after the fourth storm circle, so you’ll have to survive that long to access it.
You’ll know the Isle of Doom is spawning when you see a banner telling you about the island rifting in. It also has a unique green icon, differentiating it from Loot Island.
Claiming the Armor of Doom
After arriving on the Isle of Doom, you’ll spot the cauldron and gain progress toward conquering it by standing in its circle. After some time, an image of Doom will appear above it, giving you an opportunity to embrace his power. Doing this morphs you into Doctor Doom, granting you all his unique abilities.
All Armor of Doom abilities in Fortnite
Once you interact with the Cauldron of Power and turn into Doctor Doom, you’ll gain the Armor of Doom for the rest of the round until you’re eliminated. The armor grants you 500 shields and health, making you much tankier than a regular player. Alongside this, you’ll also get the following abilities:
- Unlimited access to Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets, letting you launch energy orbs at enemies in quick succession.
- A Scorch Beam that activates a beam of energy wherever you aim, dealing damage every second and destroying structures instantly.
- Unlimited hovering abilities, including over water, alongside Doom’s MvC foot dive.
- A massive Mystical Bomb attack that destroys structures and deals massive damage to enemies instantly.
- Unlimited stamina
What’s the downside of the Armor of Doom, then? You can’t pick up and interact with any weapons, potions, or medallions while it’s active. Anything on your person will drop to the ground, including any equipped medallions, replacing them with the armor. On the plus side, the buffs from becoming Doctor Doom outweigh most weapons and effects you can have.
