You’re finally getting around to building the base of your dreams in Starfield, but suddenly get stopped short. Creating the outpost is going to take resources… a lot of resources. And you seem to be coming up short on something multiple items require. Structural Material is necessary for outpost construction in Starfield, so you need a lot. But where do you get it?
Luckily for you builders, Structural Material is one of the easiest resources to get in Starfield. Hell, if you’re a fan of harvesting materials, you’re probably up to your eyeballs in the stuff. I had to sell my excess stock before it filled my ship during my early time with the game. But if you’re here, then you’re probably not exactly rich with the material. Let’s find some more so you can get back to building your outpost.
Where can I harvest Structural Material in Starfield?
You can find Structural Material in many different plants in Starfield. Next time you’re on a planet, whip out your scanner and check around. Some plants contain resources like lubricant or fiber, but others offer up the material “Structural.” It’s likely hard plant matter, such as roots. So “Structural (Root)” is exactly the kind of stuff you want to find and gather.
It’s practically everywhere, save for the planets that can’t support life. If you have the Dream Home trait, you can find the material in your own backyard. The planet Nesoi has biomes called Savanna and Deciduous Forest where you can find the Jagged Heart Leaf. Harvest it for Structural (Root).
I’d rather just buy it
You can purchase all the Structural Material you need at practically any shop in Starfield. Hit up Jemison Mercantile or any general goods store, and you’ll likely find it for cheap. I went to the Trade Authority in Cydonia and found some for only six credits each.
