Upgrading your weapons and Echoes is part of making a powerful team in Wuthering Waves. Scarletthorn is a resource you’ll use to craft weapons, allowing you to potentially get a few upgrades if you recently acquired a new character.
Where to find Scarletthorn Ore in Wuthering Waves
Scarletthorn ore spawns in most regions around Wuthering Waves’ map, with the locations below having numerous clusters of them:
- In Desorock Highland, around the Thundering Memphis boss
- In the Central Plains, around the Tempest Memphis boss and northwest of the Tower of Adversity
- North of the Dim Forest
- In the northeastern and southeastern parts of Whining Aix’s Mire
If you’re traveling around the northern half of the map, you’ll spot several Scarletthorn spawns, especially in the Central Plains or Desorock Highland. They appear close to several Resonance Nexus and Beacons, making this a quick farming trip if you’ve explored the area before and are just revisiting for quests or boss hunting.
Alternatively, the Dim Forest or Whining Aix’s Mire are both good shouts for finding Scarletthorn, as both regions spawn them in abundance. In particular, if you want to farm this resource, these two areas are a great call, especially if you have several Resonance Beacons and Nexus fast travel spots unlocked.
As you venture around Wuthering Waves’ map, watch for red, jagged ore nodes. Their rough, almost thorny appearance and red hue differentiates them from other resources like Lampylumen.
What is Scarletthorn Ore used for?
The main purpose of Scarletthorn is to create weapons at the Jinzhou weapon forger’s crafting table. The prices for weapons range from ten Scarletthorn to 150, so be prepared to farm for hundreds if you want to craft several. You’ll also need materials like standard weapon molds, which you can find while Echo hunting.
While you won’t get any overpowered five-star weapons here, the four-star weapons available at the weapon forger’s crafting table are solid options, especially if you only have one or two other weapons or lower-grade ones. Be sure to check exactly what materials you need beforehand, as many recipes require Indigoite and other related materials instead.
