Can you get rid of treasure maps in Fisch?

Unfortunately, there is no way of throwing away maps in Fisch, once you get one it will stay in your inventory until you find the treasure they are going to lead you to. They are also not easy to find and rewards can be quite interesting, so we would not recommend throwing them away. In any case, at least for now, your only way to create some space is by using the map for its intended purpose.

If you have found any maps in Fisch you might be confused as to what to do with them. Indeed they cannot be read as they are, so you will have to find out how to fix them before they can be used to find a treasure.

How to fix treasure maps in Fisch

Once you find a map or more than one, then you need to find an NPC, the pirate Jack Marrow. He is at the Forsaken Shores docks, so head into that area, which can be seen heading southwest from Moosewood. Jack can be found in a cave, heading towards the middle point of the island.

Each fixed map will set you back 250C$, so be sure you have enough money before heading to visit Marrow. Once they are fixed, they can be used to find the treasure, but you will still need to do some legwork.

Once the map is fixed, you can read the locations which will be actual coordinates. In order to use them to your advantage, you will need to buy the GPS, right from the start of the game, in Moosewood pond. This costs 100C$, which is relatively cheap, and will help you easily find treasure. Here’s how to read the coordinates:

  • X relates to how far to the west or east the location is.
  • Y relations to the depth of the location.
  • Z relates to the north or south of the location

Once you can read the coordinates on the map, you need to follow them exactly on your GPS in order to find the treasure. Always consider that the treasure might be on land, on a mountain but, especially, also in the depths of the sea. You will need to jump down and take a look with your diving gear, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t see anything when you arrive at the right coordinates.

Still, on Reddit, many players have reported problems with the maps, there are times when even arriving at the right coordinates does not seem to yield any treasure. If that happens, we would recommend going back to Jack Marrow and try to fix the map again to get new coordinates.
